Event Details
They are many ways to create Android application. Debate regarding hybrid or native app is never end. Hybrid app is based on web technologies while native app relies directly on the specific language where the platform was built. Native programming language for developing Android app is Java. However, Java for Android development is slightly different with Java ME for mobile, due to the different in software development kit (SDK) and the Android process virtual machine (Dalvik).

In the early age of Android OS, the applications were built using Eclipse and now new official integrated development environment (IDE) has released which is Android Studio. Android Studio is an integrated IDE for developing Android apps on based on IntelliJ IDEA. After version 1.0 released by Google, it’s has been widely used by developers, precedes Eclipse. During Google I/O 2015, Android Studio 1.3 has been announced.

Background Information
Meteor is an open source real-time JavaScript web application framework written on top of Node.js. Rapid prototyping and cross-platform produced code is allowed by Meteor. Compared to AngularJS, Meteor was designed to be easy to learn. Meteor also supports MongoDB and future database support is coming. Like Backbone, Meteor doesn't depend on stuffing application logic into your HTML. Meteor's official testing framework is called Velocity.

Chapter 272: MaGIC Academy: Learn Swift Programming (Mobile Development)

On the first day, the instructor, Kevin Bluer explained about the requirements gathering and prototype before he taught us about the programming fundamentals for Swift Programming and let us try the exercise on XCode Playground. And on the next day, he taught us about the 4 labs for Swift Programming, such as my news, kids calculator, my location and my data storage (in local database or online database). Before the course ended, all the participants took a picture with the instructor. I like the way he taught me about this new programming language and I learned a lot during the weekend course. Hopefully I can meet him again in the future.

Event Details
Apple have come up to a new programming language for iOS and OS X based apps that builds on the best of C and Objective-C, without the constraints of C compatibility. This language adopts safe programming patterns and adds modern features to make programming easier, more fun and more flexible. It's a new programming language for Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks.

Development of Swift started by Chris Lattner in collaboration with other programmers in 2010 and was announced by Apple in 2014. The language was designed with two goals in mind, to be swift to code and execute. Swift syntax was designed to be clean and easy to read. This is to make it friendly for new programmers, and as a result it is incredibly easy to learn.

This introductory bootcamp is suitable for aspiring mobile entrepreneurs who have ideas which they want to be developed.

This evening, after my working hours, my friend who worked as a fire officer, Khairul fetched me and my colleague, Dennis to MaGIC for "Understanding Mobile Development - Strategy and Development". We reached there around 07:15 p.m.. After we registered ourselves for the event, we took bento as our dinner (The organiser provided the dinner to the participants. ). Around 08:00 p.m., the instructor, Kevin Bluer started the course and I had learned a lot of interesting from the course. After the course, a lot of participants reached the instructor and have a chat with him whereas I get today's note from him before I left. I will meet the instructor on the next day as he is the instructor for "Learn Swift Programming (Mobile Development)" course for the weekends. And also not to forget to thanks to Khairul to sent me to MaGIC for the course.

MaGIC in collaboration with JomWeb is conducting a workshop on AngularJS. The workshop will be fully on-hands. During the workshop, the participants will be coding up a simple todo list in AngularJS. The template that will be used is http://todomvc.com, which is simple enough to do in a few hours, but complex enough to demonstrate the potential of AngularJS. The participants will be demonstrated how to do CRUD actions on their data and bind the data to the DOM. The participants will be shown how to save the data inside the browser's localstorage first then switch over to firebase.com that provides realtime data storage.

About the Speaker

Zulfa Juniadi Zulkifli is a fullstack developer professionally for 8 years. He has been developing countless projects. On the backend he does PHP on Laravel, Codeigniter or Slim. For the front end , he does AngularJS and BackboneJS. He is very active in the Jomweb Group where he contributes his time, effort and knowledge . Zulfa works full-time at Sands Consulting Sdn Bhd, spend most of his time coding, but also make time to mentor peers and offering consultation to customers.

i) Participants to pre-install sublime text.
ii) A registration at https://www.firebase.com.
iii) Some sort of Webserver (be it apache, nginx or just
php -S will do). This will enable angular to fetch
remote data via AJAX and save on local storage.

Event Details
This workshop is designed to introduce participants to Python programming language using data wrangling as a running example. Participants will learn a fair amount of Python and several useful Python libraries. The workshop is split into five modules and each module focuses on particular aspects of Python and its applications. There will also be hands-on projects to help solidify the concepts taught in each module.

Key Takeaways
After completing the workshop, participants will:

• Be comfortable using Python for everyday tasks
• Have enough understanding of Python to further master the language on their own
• Understand what is possible using Python and libraries thereof
• Be able to program simple database applications using Python
• Know how to fetch data from a variety of sources and turn it into a useful form
• Serves as a prerequisite to learning more advanced Python workshops (eg web development in Django)

Pre - Requisite & Planning

• Some programming background is assumed (you will be expected to already understand if/else conditions, for/while loops and functions from a different programming language)
• To ensure participants benefit the most from this workshop, please ensure you complete at least the following 4 short online tutorials attending. (Python Syntax, Strings and Console Output, Conditionals and Control Flow and Functions) at http://www.codecademy.com/en/tracks/python. It should not take more than 2 hours of your time.
• Participants will need to bring their own laptop (preferably running Ubuntu, but it's not necessary as we'll be using c9.io as a cloud development platform)
• Enthusiasm and curiosity

Hi guys ,this is a "Free" Web Page Design workshop that organized by Chinese Language Society Multimedia University (Cyberjaya) Information Technology & Media Division of Information Technology Division .We would like to invite all MMU students to attend it. In this workshop we will invite FCI lecture to teach you guys how to do a basic web page design by using HTML language.
